Mount Vernon Wins Sectional Opener and Advances to Friday Night Semis

A balanced scoring attack leads to a 44-27 first round sectional win over Bosse for the Lady Cats! Aubrey Grimes led the way, with a 12 point 10 rebound double-double. Taylor Ellison and Abby Powell contributed 9 points a piece while Stella Hall added in 8 of her own. Defensively the Cats were helped out by 9 steals from Hall. With the win, Mount Vernon advances to the semifinals where they will take on the Memorial Tigers this Friday at 5:30.
