The MVHS Lady Wildcat Cross Country team continued a tradition by running a 4K race at Princeton on Tuesday night. This meet is a perfect follow up to the Hokum Karem on the previous Saturday. While no official team results are kept, no medals or ribbons are handed out, the girls went to work with competing on their minds. They did not disappoint us! Our team split from our first runner to our 5th was a minute and 4 seconds! Senior Krissy Bazan went out hard and led the 'Cats through the entire race finishing in 5th place overall just a few seconds away from breaking into the "18 minute club." Her time was early a minute faster than it was a year ago. Running second for MV was Freshman Makayla Schneider who completed the course in 19:21 on her way to a 6th place finish. In seventh, running 3rd for MV, was Junior Brynn Davis. Dropping nearly 30 seconds from a year ago, she crossed the line in 19:38. Finishing 10th overall and 4th for MV was Senior Ashley Lilleston. Ashley's time was 20:03 dropping nearly 40 seconds from last year's race. Rounding out the top 5 was Freshman Maddie Abel who crossed the line 11th overall and 20:12. Sophomore Ellie Blackburn ran sixth for the 'Cats and dropped over 2 and a half minutes from a year ago for a time of 20:54. Senior Destin Gentry also ran a solid time of 22:37 in her first 4K competition. Results from Boonville will be posted next, but these young ladies are to be commended for their hard work as their times are dropping and collectively we are getting much better every race out! Keep it up, Ladies!
