On a cool morning, the Mt. Vernon Cross Country teams returned to Angel Mounds for another chance at the sectional course. With fast times in mind, 18 schools sent runners to the line. 13 schools had complete teams and those results are: 1. Evansville F.J. Reitz High = 28 2. Evansville Memorial High Sc = 90 3. Castle High School = 105 4. Silver Creek High School = 111 5. South Knox High School = 115 6. Princeton Community High Sc = 139 7. Evansville Mater Dei High S = 178 8. Northeast Dubois High Schoo = 222 9. Christian Academy Of Indian = 269 10. Christian County = 273 11. North Posey High School = 317 12. Tecumseh High School = 318 13. Evansville Bosse High School = 400 Mt. Vernon was one runner shy of a full scoring team, but they did not disappoint! The Mason-Dual continued as Mason Suits and Mason Hagan pushed each other through the race. In the end, the senior Mason Suits pulled ahead running a season best time (23:26.6) cutting a minute off of his time from two weeks ago on this same course. Sophomore Mason Hagan completed the course by cutting 30 seconds from his previous run at Angel Mounds (23:42.0). Junior Malachi Spainhoward continued his upward trend running his season best (24:21.9) while also cutting a minute from his previous time. Sophomore Ryan McCollum continues to get better each time on the course as he cut 16 seconds to set his course best time of 27:10.6. The guys had a great week of practice leading up to their success at the Mater Dei Invite. They will be back in action next Saturday traveling to Crawford County for the "class race" invitational.
