Varsity vs Crawford County Invitational (Fifth) The Lady Wildcats traveled to Crawford County to compete in the Annual Crawford County Invite. There were joined at the starting line by 22 schools and when the dust settled, they finished 5th overall and 5 girls earned medals in their respective class races! Freshman Maddie Abel was 5th in her class and 23rd overall cutting another 21 seconds from her time last weekend at Angel Mounds. Senior Krissy Bazan ran another great race as she was 33rd overall and 5th in her class with a 23:48.0. Freshman Makayla Schneider bounced back cutting 44 seconds from a week ago as she was 35th overall and 10th as a freshman. Next for Mt. Vernon was Sophomore Ellie Blackburn who continues to recover from her injury. She cut two minutes and nineteen seconds from her time last weekend to finish 44th overall and 13th in her class (24:22.4). Senior Ashley Lilleston was 49th overall and 11th in her class as the 5th place scorer for MV. Her time this year was a minute and a half faster than on the same course a year ago. For the first time in her career, Senior Destin Gentry completed the course in under 27 minutes (26:57.3). Her time was about 17 seconds faster than last weekend and over two minutes faster than last year.
