The Lady Wildcats track and field team delivered a strong showing Tuesday evening at the Forest Park Invitational in Ferdinand, finishing third overall against a competitive field. Senior leaders Jaylan York and Maggie Aldrich paced the Wildcats with standout performances across multiple events. York showcased her versatility by earning a second-place finish in the long jump, taking third in the 200-meter dash, and adding additional team points in the 100-meter hurdles. Aldrich also had an impressive night on the track, sprinting to earn the team valuable points in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Junior Attalia Wolf contributed in the field events, placing third in the discus, and Junior Jaycee Campbell earned points for her third-place finish and personal record time in the 800-meter run. The Wildcats also received a boost from their younger athletes. Freshman Madison Cooper turned in a strong distance performance, earning the team points in the 1600, 3200, and 3200 relay, and Freshman Stella Hall contributed by earning points in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, as well as the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400. With a balanced effort from both veteran leaders and emerging talent, the Lady Wildcats continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
