Mount Vernon High School

The Mt. Vernon Lady Wildcats competed in the annual Pike Central Invite held at Prides Creek Park. The course is the hilliest course of the season. The girls attacked it with a good attitude and they ended up 6th as a team with 15 schools represented. The 'Cats were led across the finish line by Freshman Maddie Abel (23:47) in 36th place. A pair of seniors were next for MV as Krissy Bazan was 38th (24:01) and Ashley Lilleston was 47th (25:05). Sophomore Elli Blackburn rebounded from a tough 2nd mile to cross the line with Freshman Makayla Schneider (26:31 for both). Senior Destin Gentry rounded out MV's team with a 57th place finish (27:08). The 'Cats are back in action on 10/7 at Prides Creek to take part in the annual PAC meet.
