There is something special about former student-athletes returning to invest in the programs that helped shape them. Mt. Vernon Volleyball is excited to welcome back two recent graduates, Arlissa Sharber and Hannah Seifert, as they begin the next chapter of their Wildcat journeys—this time from the sidelines as coaches. Both coaches represent exactly what the Mt. Vernon Volleyball program strives to develop: student-athletes who love the game, value relationships, and want to give back to the next generation of Wildcats. Welcome Back, Coach Arlissa Sharber Joining the high school staff as an assistant coach, Arlissa Sharber returns to Mt. Vernon after graduating in 2024 and continuing her volleyball career at Frontier College. During her playing career at Mt. Vernon, Sharber was a two-year varsity starter and earned Second Team All-PAC honors as a senior. She left her mark throughout the Wildcat record book, finishing her career ranked: #10 All-Time in Digs (583) #10 All-Time in Kills (457) #11 All-Time in Assists (548) Arlissa's versatility, work ethic, and understanding of the game made her a key contributor during her time as a Wildcat, and those same qualities will now help her impact student-athletes as a coach. Welcome Back, Coach Hannah Seifert Mt. Vernon is also excited to welcome Hannah Seifert as the new Junior High Volleyball Coach. A 2024 graduate, Seifert was a two-year varsity starter and Second Team All-PAC selection during her senior season. She finished her high school career with: 341 Kills 67 Blocks 40 Aces Known for her competitiveness, leadership, and passion for the game, Hannah will now have the opportunity to help develop young Wildcats as they begin their volleyball journeys at the junior high level. Building the Future Through Former Wildcats One of the strongest indicators of a healthy program is when former athletes want to return and serve. Arlissa and Hannah understand the traditions, expectations, and pride that come with wearing the maroon and gray. Their experiences as student-athletes, combined with their passion for helping others grow, will provide tremendous value to our volleyball program. "We are excited to welcome Arlissa and Hannah back to Mt. Vernon Volleyball," said Athletic Director Leigh Ann Latshaw. "Both young women represented our program with pride as student-athletes and now have the opportunity to positively impact the next generation of Wildcats. Their willingness to give back speaks volumes about who they are, and we look forward to watching them grow as coaches while helping our student-athletes continue to LevelUp." Please join us in welcoming Coach Sharber and Coach Seifert back home to Mt. Vernon Volleyball!
