The Mt. Vernon Girls Golf team competed in the Pocket Athletic Conference tournament at The Farm Saturday taking 2nd place with a season best 356. Washington beat the 'Cats by just 9 strokes with 347. Senior Libby Reese carded 76, tying Pike Central Senior Kady Gideon for lowest round of the event which resulted in a sudden death playoff. During the first playoff hole, Reese stuck her approach to 15 feet and sunk the birdie putt to earn her the Individual PAC Champion honors. Congratulations Libby! Wildcat sophomore Addison Pickett picked up her first PAC All-Conference honors, tying 3 other golfers for 10th place with a very solid 87, the second best score for the team. Junior Elise Williams struggled on the front nine but improved on the back nine to bring in 93 and Senior Attalia Wolf rounded out the 4th team score with 100. Junior Joslyn David shot 106. The team improved their overall record to 34-16. Seniors Libby Reese and Attalia Wolf will be celebrated for Senior Night against Mater Dei and Reitz on Tuesday the 15th at Western Hills CC.
