The boys basketball team lost a nailbiter on the road at Evansville Central Friday night 48-47. They missed a shot at the buzzer to win. They were led by seniors Jackson Clowers with 17 points and Nicot Burnett with 14 points. On Saturday, the boys came out very quickly and jumped on the Mount Carmel Golden Aces early building a halftime lead of 35-12. The Wildcats were victorious 55-36. Nicot Burnett led the way with 28 points and Meyer Robb contributed 14 points. Mt. Vernon will be back in action next Saturday evening when they take on conference foe Gibson Southern.
