The Mt. Vernon boys basketball team won their 2nd straight on Monday evening, defeating the Harrisburg Bulldogs 68-54. Mt. Vernon evens their record to 6-6 on the season. The Wildcats had very balanced scoring with 4 guys in double figures. Nicot Burnett led the way with 19 points, Brady Schickel had 13 points, Jackson Clowers had 12 points, and Meyer Robb had 10. Nash Hostetter was outstanding off the bench both offensively and defensively and contributed 7 points as well. The Wildcats were aggressive defensively forcing 15 Harrisburg turnovers and did a great job on their leading scorer Cam Ande. Mt. Vernon will continue the Carmi Tournament on Thursday evening when they will take on the Fairfield Mules at 5:30pm. Come out and support the Cats!
