The Mt. Vernon Boys Basketball team won their 3rd straight Thursday evening with a victory over the Fairfield Mules 73-54. The Wildcats played extremely well in the 2nd half and stretched a 2 point halftime lead out to 20 points, three minutes into the 4th quarter. Mt. Vernon had another balanced scoring attack with 4 guys in double figures. Jackson Clowers led the way with 20 points, Meyer Robb had 16 points, Nash Hostetter had 15 points and Nicot Burnett 14 points. Mt. Vernon turned up the defensive pressure in the 2nd half and used turnovers to create some easy scoring opportunities in transition. Mt. Vernon will be back in action tomorrow night at Carmi-White County when they take on the Day School Eagles. Tip time is scheduled for 5:30. Come on over to Carmi and support the Cats!
