The Boys basketball team beat Gibson Southern Tuesday evening Sectional 32, 43-36. The Cats raced out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter and kept the lead throughout the game's entirety. Nicot Burnett led the Cats with 18 points. Jackson Clowers had 14 points and Meyer Robb and Brady Schickel had 7 and 4 respectively. Mt. Vernon's defense was outstanding throughout the game and allowed them to earn their first Sectional victory since the 2016-17 season. Mt. Vernon will be back in action at Boonville Friday evening against the Bosse Bulldogs. This will be the 2nd game of the evening and will start between 7 and 7:30pm. Let's have a great crowd and make some noise for the Cats Friday evening!
