On Tuesday, April 9, we would like to invite the public to join us for Grant Doherty's signing! He has committed to continue his soccer career as a Hanover College Panther! Please report to the Athletic Foyer located at Circle Drive after the buses clear at 3:15 pm. Grant has played soccer for 13 years. During that time, he has earned 4 varsity letters at MVHS while being recognized by area coaches as an outstanding soccer player as well. He has been voted All-Conference in the PAC three times, All-District twice and was an All-State Honorable Mention while in high school. At Hanover, Doherty plans to major in Data Science. He chose to become a Panther because, "they have a very developed program" under the direction of head coach, Matt Wilkerson. Coach Wilkerson has completed his 11th year at Hanover with much success. The Panthers, members of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), have won 4 conference titles while going 119-62-25 under Wilkerson. In addition, they have made three NCAA D3 National Tournament appearances and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen back in 2021. Prior to taking over at Hanover, Coach Wilkerson was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Kentucky (2003 - 2011).
