Vernon, IN – May 29, 2024 We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Alexa Osborne as the new Cross Country Coach for Mt. Vernon High School. With a strong background in both coaching and education, Osborne brings experience and enthusiasm to our cross country program. About Alexa Osborne Hailing from Owensboro, KY, Alexa Osborne has been actively involved in the field of athletics and education. Her impressive coaching career includes a tenure from 2019 to 2023 as the Head Girls Track & Field Coach at Evansville Central, where she led the 4x1 relay team to a state appearance, showcasing her ability to develop competitive athletes. Osborne also served as the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach at Evansville Central from 2020 to 2023. Under her leadership, the teams achieved numerous semi-state appearances and individual state appearances, reflecting her strategic acumen and commitment to excellence in cross country running. Many of her student athletes have gone on to compete in college. Educational and Professional Background Beyond her coaching achievements, Osborne has a solid foundation in education. She is currently serving as an Assistant Principal at West, where she applies her leadership skills to foster a positive learning environment. Her teaching experience spans Physical Education and Special Education within the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and in her hometown of Owensboro, KY. Osborne’s educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University and a Master’s degree from the University of the Cumberlands. She also holds a Principal License from Purdue University, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to excel in both educational and athletic leadership roles.
