Mount Vernon High School

The Mt. Vernon Girls Golf team placed 3rd at the annual Lady Wildcat Invitational on Monday at Western Hills (Par 73.) The 3rd place 'Cats carded a collective 441 while the invite was won by the Reitz Panthers with 415, and the 2nd place Southridge Raiders with 431. Mt. Vernon was led by sophomore Libby Reese with 93, junior Emily Jones with a 106, senior Shelby Lang with 112, and junior Aubrey May with 130. Jaley Hamilton came in with 137. Libby Reese, who had the days second best score to Hope Hanmore's 89 from Reitz, received the 3rd place ribbon after losing the western draw to Boonville's Lydia Aldrige who also had 93. Emily Jones placed 9th individually for the tournament and also received a ribbon. Three other Wildcat's played their first 18 holes of their careers. Freshman Elise Williams shot 123, sophomore Attalia Wolf at 129, and freshman Joslyn David with 138. The team will play again this coming weekend at the Washington Invitational at Country Oaks.
