Mount Vernon High School

The Mt. Vernon boys' soccer team took on South Knox Wednesday night in a non-conference match. The Wildcats gave up an early goal to the Spartans. After conceding the first goal Mt. Vernon picked up their level of play for a long stretch before giving up a second goal. After that the Wildcats kept the Spartans off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half. After halftime though it was all Spartans. South Knox added three more goals in the first 15 minutes of the period. They add one more near the end to claim the 6-0 victory. Mt. Vernon looks to rebound Saturday when they take on conference rival Tell City at 4:00 at home. Come out for a full day of soccer with all three middle school teams and the high school girls playing at the high school field starting at 8 am.
