Mount Vernon High School

The Mt. Vernon Wildcats tipped off Sectional 32 play with a win over the Heritage Hills Patriots 55-46. MV played excellent defense throughout the night and forced 20 Patriot turnovers. Building a 26-11 halftime lead, the Wildcats withstood a run by Heritage Hills in the 3rd quarter and were able to build a double digit lead back up in the 4th. Major contributions from everyone tonight and a really solid win to start postseason play. Some highlights were Greyson Buse who led the Wildcats with 19 points and was outstanding defensively throughout the game. Bryce Clowers was also great defensively and hit a huge 3 to extend the lead early in the 4th quarter. Brady Schickel was also really good with 10 points and defended and rebounded at a high level all night long. Scoring the Wildcats was: Greyson Buse with 19 points to lead all scorers, Nash Hostetter with 13 points, Brady Schickel with 10 points, Meyer Robb with 8 points, and Bryce Clowers with 5 points. Mt. Vernon will be back in action in the Semi-Finals on Friday night vs Memorial at about 7pm. Come out and help make some noise for the Wildcats! #PLAYHARD #GOCATS
