Mount Vernon High School

The Wildcats XC teams traveled to Gibson Southern today to kick off the season. Despite the heat both teams displayed a lot of grit. The girls team of Makayla Schneider, Maddie Abel and anchored by Madison Cooper had a promising showing in the field of 51 teams coming in at 21. The boys entered two relay teams in the race. One team made up of William Lemberg/Marcus Reicken finished 39th and the other of Avery Capes/Thomas Scates finished 52nd out of 67 teams. A good showing for the young team in a very competitive field. The teams will next travel to Princeton next week.
