Girls Soccer Varsity defeated Evansville Harrison by a score of 3-1 on Thursday evening at the EVSC fields. The game opened with a goal by senior Ella Sponn. Harrison came back with 10 minutes to play in the first half to tie the game. But the Lady Wildcats stepped it up in the second half and Sponn again tallied two more goals to finish the game with three goals on the night. The Wildcats defensed was anchored by Junior Goalkpeer Alyssa Fendel with 9 saves on the night. Senior Taylor Ellison and Junior Jaycee Campbell helped the defense keep the Warriors off the board in the second half. The girls will play conference team Princeton on the road next week on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats are now 1-1 on the season.
