The Mt. Vernon junior varsity boys' soccer team had their second match of the season on Wednesday night at South Knox. Despite playing against a mixture of South Knox's varsity and backups the Wildcat's held tough. The Spartan scored an early goal through a crowded defense to go up 1-0, but Mt. Vernon didn't let that deflate their spirit. They kept pushing forward and had several opportunities to attack the Spartans. Sophomore Jackson Meinschein had a good night in his first action of the season. On the defensive side of the ball juniors Derek Lindenschmidt and Braxton Whitfield had good games. South Knox score a couple of times off of corner kicks and ended up with the victory.
