Lady Wildcats defeat South Spencer 4-2 in the first official home game of the season. The Lady Wildcats finally got to play at the soccer field at Mt Vernon tonight and they were excited from the start. The girls have had a week of bad news with losing Junior Goalkeeper Alyssa Fendel to injury for a few weeks so they really had to step it up. Jaylan York stepped in and did a fantastic job coming up with 8 saves and only allowing 2 goals. The Lady Wildcats came out quick with a goal from senior Ella Sponn but South Spencer answered right back. The Lady Wildcats came back again and scored this time from Freshman Olivia Staib. South Spencer again had an answer and tied the game up 2-2. In the second half Ella Sponn got the scoring going again for the Lady Wildcats and they never looked back. Mariyah Buchanan rounded out the scoring and the end of the game ended 4-2. The Lady Wildcats had assists from Lena Gonzalez, Hailey Jarvis, Ella Sponn, Taylor Ellison and Abigail Powell. The Lady Wildcats are now 7-3 on the season and 4-1 in the conference. They return to action Saturday at Southridge.
