Mount Vernon High School

Mount Vernon Junior Libby Reese competed at the IHSAA Washington Regional at Country Oaks on Saturday. Reese began with two pars then struggled some beginning on hole 3 and was on and off through the front 9 resulting in a 7-over 43. Reese zeroed in on the back nine, scoring 2 birdies on holes 14 and 17. She also carded 4 pars along with 3 bogeys. She finished up the back with a one-over 37, combining a great score of 80 for the day. Libby’s 80 was the 9th best overall in a field of 90 players, falling short of advancing to the state tournament by 3 strokes. Overall, Reese had an extremely successful day, showing grit and resilience.
