The Mount Vernon Wildcats have much to celebrate in the pool today, as every swimmer dropped time and the Wildcats finished 3rd out of 10 competitive teams. The big drop of the day went to freshman Peyton McDaniel who dropped the Mount Vernon school record in the 100 butterfly, a record previously held by Michea Reinitz from 2009 (56.56). Peyton dropped a full second from Thursday's opening swim, tweaking some details and finishing at a 55.99, a huge drop of the record. We look forward to much to come in this event for her. Winning swims included: 200 Medley Relay- Jaley Hamilton, Malley Wagner, Peyton McDaniel, Ella Wells 100 Butterfly- Peyton McDaniel 100 Freestyle- Jaley Hamilton 500 Freestyle- Peyton McDaniel 400 Freestyle Relay- Peyton McDaniel, Isabella Benthall, Ella Wells, Jaley Hamilton Top 12 scoring finishes included: 200 Freestyle- Isabella Benthall (7th), Andrea Rutledge (8th) 200 IM- Malley Wagner (7th) 50 Freestyle- Ella Wells (2nd) 100 Butterfly- Ella Wells (2nd), Isabella Benthall (11th) 500 Freestyle- Andrea Rutledge (7th) 200 Freestyle Relay- Malley Wagner, Isabella Benthall, Victoria Poling, Andrea Rutledge (8th) 100 Backstroke- Jaley Hamilton (2nd) 100 Breaststroke- Malley Wagner (2nd) The Wildcats return to action after the Thanksgiving break on December 5th versus North and Central at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville.
